 INTRODUCTION

I am a Personal Trainer that believes in throwing away the scales, because let's face it building your confidence by a number on the scales is not beneficial for your mental health.

I focus on helping my clients build confidence in themselves and improve their mental health through exercise.

The main reason that we want to lose weight is because we want to feel good about ourselves. However, the reason we don't feel good about ourselves is because there is usually some negative self talk going on. Whatever that is, it has been making us emotionally eat. We eat when we are feeling depressed, anxious, lonely, feelings of not being good enough, bored or dealing with past traumas we are not ready to talk about yet. We use food for comfort.

So when we are at the point of not looking after our mental health, we feel the answer is to lose weight and think that will solve everything. By focusing on just your weight loss you add in measurements of your body and weigh ins on those dreaded scales and new negative thoughts to have about your body when you feel things are not changing quick enough. (This process is a marathon, not a sprint) Your mental health is then defined by the number on those scales which isn't healthy. If you're not working on improving your mental health it's easy to go back to old eating habits and be back at square one. 

So how do I help my clients ?

With my Life Coaching skills I help my clients change their mindset. Changing negative self talk into positive self talk. I help you gain confidence and believe you can do anything in life you set your mind too.

With my Personal Training skills I help you get fit, strong and help you progress in your physical health and look after your body and get those happy endorphins swimming around your head which in turn lifts your mood.

But what if losing weight is my main goal ?

The great news is when you work on your mental health alongside your physical health you will feel so good overall that you will be able to have control over emotional eating. This enables you to make decisions with food that are more benefical for you. Also you're getting fitter and stronger. So between changing your eating habits and exercising you will naturally lose the weight.

The difference is that your priority is your mental health and your physical health collectively, and the weight loss as a result of looking after yourself overall is an added bonus. 

You would have made a sustainable life change! 

I will be honest, change isn't easy. It takes patience and time. But when you see and feel those changes it makes all the hard work worth it.
